“For Ezra had devoted himself to the study and observance of the Law of the LORD, and to
teaching its decrees and laws in Israel.” (Ezra 7:10)
Dear ICC Family,
In my recent letter, I announced that a dear couple to Lynda and me, Drs. Tim & Lianne Kernan, were relieved of their duties as the Chancellor & Vice Chancellor of the International College of Christian Ministries (ICCM). Lynda and I thank them for their valiant efforts to build the foundation for this great work as we aspire to train the future leaders of God’s movement to equip His church and evangelize this lost world.
It is my privilege to announce that Dr. Andrew & Patrique Smellie, the servant leaders of the Africanus World Sector, have humbly accepted my request to become the new Chancellor & Vice Chancellor of Women for ICCM! Andrew & Patrique are dear friends to the Kernans and share a passion for ICCM and its development, so I am confident that the transition of
leadership will be seamless. The Smellies have proven their dedicaKon to ICCM by personally building a successful extension school in Washington, DC as well as in third-world countries like Lagos (Nigeria), Johannesburg (South Africa), and overseeing the Abidjan (Ivory Coast) ICCM extension school for the past eight years, with a graduation rate of 100%.
The LORD has prepared Andrew & Patrique for “such a time as this,” as their spiritual and educational qualifications have equipped them for such a role. Andrew & Patrique have earned degrees in Ministry from ICCM, with Andrew receiving his Doctorate of Ministry (D.Min) in 2016. As one of the original developers of the ICCM program, Andrew currently serves on the ICCM Board, having also served as the former Dean of the Graduate School in Los Angeles. Before their call to the ministry, the Smellies also earned advanced degrees in Health Administration (Andrew – Bachelor of Science & Master of Health Administration – Cornell University) and Public Administration & Law (Patrique – Bachelor of Arts, Master in
Public Administration, Juris Doctorate – Johns Hopkins University, Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs & Syracuse University College of Law, respectively). After graduating from law school, Patrique practiced law for five years and is still a licensed attorney. It is my prayer that the Smellies’ spiritual and educational preparation, as well as almost 20 years of effective church leadership, will provide the ICCM program with successful leadership for the future.
Please pray for Andrew & Patrique as they dream to take the ICCM to the “next level.” May the LORD bless our humble efforts to glorify Him as we imitate Ezra’s dedication to “study, observe and teach” God’s word to this generation and beyond.
Venia et Veritas (Latin for “Grace and Truth” – John 1:14),
